Happy birthday Nyasha Victoria Mazhindu

Precious Friend

Anonymous

We all need someone
To talk to in our life,
A friend to whom we run
In times of stress or strife

A friend who's always there
Throughout the years,
A friend we know will care
And take away our fears.

A friend who's always near,
Waiting for our call,
To wipe away our tears,
And lift us when we fall.

A loving friend indeed,
On whom we can depend
To fulfill our every need -
Thank you, precious friend.

wipe tears lift fall loving friend depend fulfill precious friend

LOVE YOU LOTS!!!!!

International women's day 2013

2013 Theme: THE GENDER AGENDA: GAINING MOMENTUM

Over time and distance, the equal rights of women have progressed. We celebrate the achievements of women while remaining vigilant and tenacious for further sustainable change. There is global momentum for championing women's equality.
Each year around the world, International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8. Thousands of events occur not just on this day but throughout March to mark the economic, political and social achievements of women. Organisations, governments, charities, educational institutions, women's groups, corporations and the media celebrate the day. Many groups around the world choose different themes each year relevant to global and local gender issues.
"The Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum" is the 2013 theme of our internationalwomensday.com website. Last year our 2012 theme was Connecting Girls, Inspiring Futures which supported the United Nation's (UN) first International Day of the Girl celebrated on 11 October 2012. The UN declares an International Women's Day theme and for 2013 it is “A promise is a promise: Time for action to end violence against women”. In 2012 it was "Empower Rural Women – End Hunger and Poverty". Many organisations develop International Women's Day themes relevant to their local contexts. For example, the European Parliament's 2012 theme was "Equal pay for work of equal value".

ONE YEAR DOWN, A LOT MORE TO GO!!!

Mi Amor:
A year ago, had anyone asked me to forecast the next 12 months I would never have gotten it right coz I would have missed the key element i.e. US or PATRISANI, PSQUARE, PNP...
I thank God you didn't think the case I made against us dating was reason for you to walk away... With each day I have grown to know and love you more...

Have so much to say but I am failing to come up with sentences which make sense. In this year I have been with you I have learnt a lot, let go of a lot of stuff. A song by Dolly Parton comes to mind as I am writing this, it goes like:
"I wasn't looking for love when I found you Just someone to be with and have a good time But I get these strange funny feelings around you When you're not with me, you're still on my mind"

Well in this case you found me, and I couldn't help but fall in love with you. Well love didn't mess up my big plans and all in actual fact it made me dream even bigger...
Realise that when the time is right, two people work towards the same goal and God agrees with them their relationship flourish!!!

I am looking forward to knowing you more and our love growing beyond our imagination!!! May God bless us with many more happy memories

Happy anniversary, my love.  I love you now and forever.

File it Away

Today I learnt that filing it away helps. My day started very well until I saw my lift club driving away without me... So as I was walking to the bus stop a lot of thoughts came to mind... For a moment I was sad but then I chose to count it all pure joy... Just after I had made that mental note a good samaritan gave me a lift to the bus stop, the journey to work was so painless and I got to work a few minutes earlier... The works of the almighty always leave me in AWE!!! Today's email (see below) from Joel and Victoria also confirmed this...

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE
“Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty. Neither do I concern myself with great matters, nor with things too profound for me”
(Psalm 131:1, NKJV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria
When things happen in your life that you didn’t plan, do you find yourself trying to reason it all out, or look for a “file,” so to speak, in your mind? What happens when you can’t find a “file” to put it in? What if you can’t make sense of it all?
Here’s the answer: Every one of us needs to create a file in our thinking called an “I Don’t Understand It” file. When things come up that don’t make sense and you can’t figure out, instead of getting frustrated or confused, simply put it in your “I Don’t Understand It” file and leave it alone. If you go through life trying to figure out why something bad happened, why it didn’t work out, why my child didn’t get healed, it’s going to cause you to be bitter. Part of trusting God means trusting Him when things don’t make sense, knowing that His plan is always for your good; knowing that He will reveal all things in His time — even if it means in eternity.
Here’s what I’ve learned. Don’t put a question mark where God has put a period. What the enemy meant for evil, God will ultimately use for your good. Keep moving forward because God loves you, God is for you, and He has a great plan for you!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Precious Lord, today I surrender my questions, I surrender my past, I surrender my need to have all the answers and choose to trust that You have all the answers. I will wait on Your timing to reveal Your ways to me and choose to press forward into the destiny You have prepared for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

DEATH OF MR BIG!!!

Quote of the Day:
“Learn the lesson so you can stop repeating the class.” ~@DrThema
The Single Woman Says:
Does it ever seem like you keep living the same day, over and over again…dating the same person, over and over again…attracting the same types of toxic friends, over and over again? I firmly believe that God will keep bringing the same tests to us, time and time again, until we pass them....Source - Single Woman

A while ago I wrote a blog about the reincarnation of Mr Big.

Well I think at that point I was somehw caught up in the Mr Big cycle... I was still to pass the Mr Big test... Believe me when I say I learnt a lot, I guess that is why I had to meet more than 1 Mr Big cause the lesson was just too big to learn through just one encounter with Mr Big... I am glad it only took one supplementary exam to pass the test coz I dont think I could hv survived another Mr Big.. I am glad I managed to break out of the cycle...
Life outside of the cycle has been AMAZING!!! So I encourage you all to learn the lesson and move on!!! (Stolen concluding line)

Little moments

“Walk in the rain, smell flowers, stop along the way, build sandcastles, go on field trips, find out how things work, tell stories, say the magic words, trust the universe.” ~Bruce Williamson

Build an imaginary house on a mountain top overlooking a valley... Have just been having these little moments... I love them to bits... Yes the grand gestures are awesome but you hv to agree that there is something AMAZING bout the little moments... Those moments when he kisses ur finger after you have cut yourself or when he opens the door for you... They truly make everything magical hey???

2012 : The year of No Settling

“The enemy of the best is the good. If you're always settling with what's good, you'll never be the best.” ~Jerry Rice

“The year of no settling.” Well, I don’t know about YOU…but I think that’s a GREAT motto to live by this year! What if we ALL made this the year of no excuses? The year we throw all caution to the wind and GO FOR IT? The year we hold nothing back…not our feelings, our dreams, our talents, our plans, NOTHING? What if…just WHAT IF…we kissed the boy this year? Or quit the job we hate? Or finally started that night class we’ve been talking about? Or wrote the book? Or took the chance? Or auditioned for the part? Or kicked that loser to the curb? Or threw GOOD away and allowed the BEST to come our way?
WHAT IF we made this the year of no settling?
Makes you wonder what AMAZING things we’d have to look back on next year at this time… J

 Passion into Action

Bertolt Deams
by Bertolt Daems
When you dream of peace
And your heart tells you not to stop dreaming; live your passion.

When you dream of peace
And life is offering you the chances to contribute, go for it.

When you dream of peace
And by every step you take, you can already see the next one, and the next one and the next one; keep on walking.

When you dream of peace and you find yourself surrounded by friends with the same dream; collaborate.

When you dream of peace
And a global organization is there for you to help make that dream come true,

hold on to it
Know it
Stimulate it
Nurture it
Guide it
Love it

And put your passion into action

We give  to you.
A regular member. Like you and me. Dreaming your dream. Dreaming my dream and dreaming his.
With only one purpose; to make the dream come true.
And to put our passion into action.

WHY HURT OUR WOMEN AND OUR CHILDREN?

I’m a mother. a sister, a partner and a friend,
I’m not an object on sale or one you can lend, …so
WHY HURT ME?
I’m the one listening to your troubles,
I’m the wiping always wiping your tears,
I’m the one who shares your dreams
As well as your fears…so
WHY HURT ME?
I give birth, one of life’s greatest joys
I do not give birth to useless toys
So everyone born from me
Is sent from above to live a life that’s free
WHY HURT THEM?
So many of us have lost our lives
Whether it can be by the gun or with knives
We, the WOMEN AND CHILDREN
Are sick to the core… AND
WE SAY: ”YOU WILL HURT US NO MORE!!
Message: “After this years 16 Days of activism against Women and Children abuse, let there be no other case of violence, they are also human beings and they deserve to be loved and taken care of.”

excerpt from “latent rapists” by Ntozakhe Shange

these men friends of ours
who smile nice
stay employed
and take us out to dinner
lock the door behind you
wit fist in face
to fuck
who make elaborate mediterranean dinners
& let the art ensemble carry all ethical burdens
while they invite a coupla friends over to have you
are sufferin from latent rapist bravado
& we are left wit the scars
bein betrayed by men who know us
& expect
like the stranger
we always thot waz comin
that we will submit
we must have known
women relinquish all personal rights
in the presence of a man
who apparently cd be considered a rapist
especially if he has been considered a friend
& is no less worthy of bein beat witin an inch of his life
bein publicly ridiculed
havin two fists shoved up his ass
than the stranger
we always thot it wd be
who never showed up
cuz it turns out the nature of rape has changed
we can now meet them in circles we frequent for companionship
we see them at the coffeehouse
wit someone else we know
we cd even have em over for dinner
& get raped in our own houses
by invitation

‘16 Days of Activism against Gender Violence’

The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence is an international campaign originating from the first Women's Global Leadership Institute sponsored by the Center for Women's Global Leadership in 1991. Participants chose the dates, November 25, International Day Against Violence Against Women and December 10, International Human Rights Day, in order to symbolically link violence against women and human rights and to emphasize that such violence is a violation of human rights.

This 16-day period also highlights other significant dates including November 29, International Women Human Rights Defenders Day, December 1, World AIDS Day, and December 6, which marks the Anniversary of the Montreal Massacre. The 16 Days Campaign has been used as an organizing strategy by individuals and groups around the world to call for the elimination of all forms of violence against women.

You can participate in the campaign by:
  • Blogging about any issues on gender based violence
  • Wear a white ribbon and supply white ribbons to friends and colleagues
  • Add the Logo to your website and stationary for the duration of the campaign
  • Run workshops and awareness raising events for friends and colleagues, on violence against women
  • Volunteer at a shelter, or service organisation, and create space and time for your friends and colleagues to volunteer too.

You Were Planned

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…"
(Jeremiah 1:5, NIV)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

What an amazing thought: God knew you before you were even born! He saw your unformed substance and said, "I have a purpose for this life. I have good plans for them!" Then He breathed His life into you and sent you through your mother and father. They may have had issues, but that doesn't have to stop you from becoming all that God intended you to be. You have been handpicked by Almighty God to be here at this time in history!
Sometimes we hear parents say, "We weren't expecting this child. They were a surprise. They were an accident." No, that child may have been a surprise to you, but they weren't a surprise to Almighty God. No child can be born without God breathing His life into them. You may think, "Well, Joel, I was unwanted. I was an unplanned pregnancy." No, you wouldn't be here if God didn't give life to your seed.
In God's eyes, there is no such thing as being illegitimate. Remember, He knew you before you were ever born! Find confidence in His love knowing that you are a person of destiny, and you are part of His mighty plan!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for choosing me before I was ever born. Thank You for knowing me and revealing Yourself to me. I trust that You are working in my life today, even when I can't see it. I stand in faith knowing that You have a mighty plan for me in Jesus' name. Amen.

Men and their stupid egos...

So men say they want a woman who can hold a conversation on a variety of subjects what they forget to say is that they dont want a woman who can have a heated argument with them. Why cant we have an intellect argument without our egos getting in the way... Why cant we separate intellectual conversations from the lovey dovey ones??? Just because I challenge your opinions doesnt mean I respect you any less....
Right I can so relate to the way Kate (#TenThingsIHateAboutYou) felt when she wrote this:

I hate the way you talk to me.
And the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare I hate your big dumb combat boots.
And the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick-- it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh -- even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it that you're not around.
And the fact that you didnt call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you - - not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

A man in a suit or in uniform

Of late I have been attracted to men in suits or uniform... I know they say dont judge a book by its cover but when it comes to this I have decided that this is an exception to the rules... I feel that one says a lot with the way they dress... For me a man in a suit or in uniform says "I am a professional who is in  charge and focused..." It also tells me that the man values the people he meets so much that he dresses up for them...
What do you think???
